5th Grade Band

The Thunder Band program now offers a year long 5th grade band program to all of the feeder program to THMS. 5th graders at Tierra Antigua, Ventana Ranch, and Sunset View Elementary. Our program is taught by Mr. Ryan Merrill the music teacher at Ventana Ranch Elementary. The program operates as an after school club two days a week. Students will get a jump start on their band career, and when they attend THMS as 6th graders, they skip beginning band and move straight to intermediate band. This is a very unique opprotunity in APS as right now, only 3 elementary schools offer a 5th grade band program in the La Cueva cluster.
